Marvel Boss Compares Moon Knight’s Storytelling Approach To WandaVision’s

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige draws a narrative connection between Moon Knight and the first Marvel series to air on Disney+, WandaVision.

Creative Director and President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige compared the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show moon knight the studio’s first foray into the television landscape, Wanda Vision.

In a red carpet interview at moon knight, Feige hinted at what audiences can expect from the MCU’s new Disney+ show. “This show is truly a mystery, and audiences are right with lead character Steven Grant,” Feige said. “He wakes up in the morning and struggles to understand what’s happening to him and what’s going on. The audience is with him on this journey throughout all six episodes. So for us, it’s really fun – almost similar to Wanda Vision – with each episode, something else is uncovered, and we walk that journey with Oscar’s character.”

It seems moon knight will follow Wanda Vision‘s prequel to a weekly mystery, which helped it become one of the most-watched TV shows of 2021, culminating in the series receiving 23 Emmy nominations and three wins. After Wanda Vision launched the current era of MCU TV, Marvel followed with series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What if…? and Hawk Eyeall of which debuted on Disney+ in 2021.

moon knight stars Oscar Isaac as a U.S. Marine with dissociative identity disorder (DID) who is granted the powers of an Egyptian god. Join Isaac are training day star Ethan Hawke and F. Murray Abraham as the Egyptian god Konshu, who imbues Moon Knight with his powers. The series is directed by The Umbrella Academy creator Jeremy Slater, as well as Mohamaed Diab, who shares directing credits with filmmaking tandem Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead on all six episodes.

Marvel’s new series will be the first of four new MCU shows set to hit Disney+ in 2022, with the others being Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk and Secret Invasion. Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and an untitled Halloween special rumored to feature Werewolf by Night – which will make its MCU debut in moon knight – are also slated to hit the streaming service this year. Feige previously said that Moon Knight will appear in future MCU movies after it airs in six episodes on Disney+.

Since the first trailer of moon knight dropped in January, fans have been waiting for the live-action debut of a classic Marvel character who has recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. While Moon Knight has been in the comics since his debut in Night Werewolf #32 in 1975, his next show finally put him in the spotlight.


moon knight debuts on Disney+ on March 30.
