An Elden Ring player experiences a fun environmental storytelling incident related to the iron ball trap inside Raya Lucaria Academy.
Ring of Elden has several memorable maze levels like all recent titles from FromSoftware, and Raya Lucaria Academy is one of the most famous dungeons in the game. Players can visit this place quite early in the game, and progressing through this dungeon leads to combat against the boss Rennala. After defeating her, players can also respec in the boss room, but they must offer a Larval Tear in exchange for this service.
Raya Lucaria Academy is filled with annoying enemies that deal magic damage from afar, and it also has several traps. The giant rolling ball in this area is probably one of the best known traps in Ring of Elden. Players must carefully jump down a broken staircase to progress towards the boss, only to be greeted by a huge iron ball rolling towards them. It’s fairly easy to avoid the trap after learning the pattern of the ball, but the whole sequence may come as a surprise to many on their first visit to the area. Now, a player has found a nifty piece of environmental storytelling related to this trap.
Elden Ring traps can tell a story
A Ring of Elden Tiktok’s clip shows a player stepping on this broken staircase at Raya Lucaria Academy. After dodging the first iron ball, they notice a random corpse on a nearby platform and wonder what caused their deaths. The player then decides to step onto the railing, gets hit by another oncoming ball, and hilariously lands in the exact same spot as the corpse. Fortunately, they survive this encounter and will probably never make the same mistake again.
It’s possible that someone at FromSoftware also died in the same way after stepping on the railing and placing the corpse there to signify the event. This trap probably resulted in many deaths, and users can find multiple videos of other players dying from the same iron ball. These bullets can also be found as regular enemies in other locations in Ring of Eldenand they’ll even chase players, resulting in some of the most terrifying encounters in the game.
Ring of Elden probably has more traps than any other FromSoftware game, and players should stay alert while navigating its many dungeons and catacombs. For example, there is a chest in Ring of EldenThe opening region of which will transport payers to a cave filled with fearsome enemies.
Ring of Elden is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
